Sri Lanka Artillery's Humanitarian Effort in the Aftermath of Cyclone Dhitwa

The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, under the leadership of Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of the Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery and the Donation team successfully executed a disaster relief operation to support families displaced by Dhitwa Cyclone.

The operation focused on the severely affected areas of Hanwella, Kosgama, Kaduwela, and Malabe, ensuring efficient coordination and delivery of essential aid. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Mrs. Vindya Premaratne, President of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch, and supported by the Centre Commandant and Deputy Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre - Artillery.

More than 5000 relief parcels were distributed, containing snacks, hot meals, pizzas, drinking water, and sanitary items for women and other needful items. This humanitarian effort exemplifies the Regiment’s unwavering commitment to national service, providing critical support to those affected by the natural disaster.

The initiative underscores the Sri Lanka Artillery’s dedication to serving the nation during times of crisis and reaffirming its role in community welfare.
