Major General M J R S Medagoda RSP USP ndc psc IG Assumes Duties as Colonel Commandant of MIC
2025-12-07In a dignified ceremony held on 06 December 2025 at the Regimental Centre of Military Intelligence Corps, Karandeniya. Major General M J R S Medagoda RSP USP ndc psc IG, the commandant of the Sri Lanka Military Academy, officially assumed duties as the 29th Colonel Commandant of the Military Intelligence Corps.
The day began with full military honours and warmly welcomed in accordance with military tradition. Following this, a series of military customs were held in honour of the new Colonel Commandant. These included a Guard Turnout, a formal Guard of Honour, the symbolic planting of a sapling, and a troop address.
The day’s proceedings culminated in an All-Ranks tea, where the new Colonel Commandant addressed the gathering.
The event was attended by Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the Regiment and marking the beginning of a new chapter under the new leadership.
