RELINQUISHED THE APPOINTMENT OF COMMANDING OFFICER 11TH REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARTILLERY

Lieutenant Colonel BMR Ferdinandez psc IG SLA concluded his distinguished tenure as the 18th Commanding Officer of the 11th Regiment, Sri Lanka Artillery on 29 December 2025 at Selvary, Thalaimannar, after successfully completing his command appointment.

The regiment marked his departure with a formal military programme conducted in accordance with artillery and army traditions. The proceedings commenced with the review of the Guard Turnout, followed by a ceremonial parade held in his honor, reflecting the respect and pride of the troops he commanded.

During the ceremony, Lt Col Ferdinandez symbolically handed over command responsibilities, signifying the completion of his stewardship and leadership of the regiment.

As part of the day’s proceedings, both the outgoing and incoming Commanding Officers paid tribute to the fallen war heroes at the "Viru Paura" Monument, honoring the legacy of bravery upheld throughout his command.

The event concluded at the Gunners’ Mess with an All Ranks Tea Party hosted in appreciation of his leadership.
