ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE COMMANDING OFFICER OF 10 MEDIUM REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARTILLERY

Lt Col AKRK Abeysinghe RSP SLA assumed duties as the 16th Commanding Officer of the 10 Regiment, Sri Lanka Artillery on 29 December 2025.

The day’s programme commenced with the arrival of the newly appointed Commanding Officer, followed by the inspection of the Guard Turnout and a ceremonial parade conducted in accordance with military traditions. In keeping with environmental stewardship and regimental customs, the Commanding Officer also planted a sapling within the regimental premises.

Formal assumption of duties took place amidst religious observances, symbolising the invocation of blessings and the spiritual sanctification of the occasion. The event concluded with an All Ranks Tea Party, providing an opportunity for the Commanding Officer to interact with officers and soldiers of the regiment in a cordial atmosphere.
