NEW GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 11 INFANTRY DIVISION ASSUMED DUTIES
2025-12-31Major General MJRS Medagoda RSP USP ndc psc IG assumed duties as the 17th General Officer Commanding of the 11 Infantry Division on 29 December 2025 at the Headquarters of the 11 Infantry Division, Pallekele, amidst formal military traditions. Upon arrival, the Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by the Deputy General Officer Commanding, Colonel Administration and Quartering, and the Staff Officers of the Headquarters 11 Infantry Division, and was accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour. Thereafter, the Senior Officer placed his signature on a formal document, symbolizing the assumption of duties. The programme further included the planting of a sapling to mark the occasion, a group photograph, troop address, an all-ranks tea party, an interactive session, followed by lunch with all Officers of the Area of Responsibility of Headquarters 11 Infantry Division.
