DRONE OPERATORS’ REFRESHER COURSE - 15 DRONE REGIMENT OF THE SRI LANKA ARTILLERY

The 15 Drone Regiment of the Sri Lanka Artillery has commenced a five-day Drone Operators’ Refresher Course from 20 to 24 January 2026 to enhance operational readiness, technical proficiency and operating capabilities. The course involves 78 participants and is conducted by experienced instructors of the Regiment, with support from two SNCOs of 9 SLSC.

15 Drone Regiment recently equipped with newly acquired 11 DJI Wind 4 drones and 3 Mavic3 drones to strengthen its operational capabilities and to expand the drone deployment up to SFHQ levels in near future. The training covers drone handling, operational procedures, relevant regulations and practical sessions to improve hands-on skills.

he course was inaugurated by the Commander, Artillery Brigade, Brigadier T G I A Ariyaratne RSP IG, under the guidance and support of senior leadership of the Sri Lanka Artillery.
