Opening of “Gunners’ Mini Golf Green” at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda
2026-01-24The Sri Lanka Artillery Officially inaugurated the “Gunners’ Mini Golf Green” at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda on 23 January 2026, visionary guidance and leadership of the Commandant of the Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, who also graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The opening ceremony commenced in the early morning with the arrival of senior officers at the Officers’ Mess, followed by the arrival of the Chief Guest, who was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant. The formal proceedings began with a brief compere note, after which the Gunners’ Mini Golf Green was officially declared open. An introduction to the game of mini golf was conducted by the Other Ranks Golf Coach, providing insight into the layout and objectives of the newly established facility. The Chief Guest then inaugurated play by completing the first round of golf, symbolically marking the commencement of activities at the Mini Golf Green. A number of senior Gunner officers attended the event, demonstrating their strong support for the initiative. souvenirs were presented to the Golf Instructors of the Sri Lanka Army Golf Committee by the Chief Guest. The ceremony concluded on a high note, reflecting the camaraderie and sporting excellence of the Sri Lanka Artillery, with the Gunners’ Mini Golf Green expected to serve as a valuable recreational and training facility for Gunners while further strengthening the Regiment’s golfing culture.
