The Centre Commandant - The Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Artillery Promoted to the Rank of Brigadier on his Birthday

In a moment of great pride and distinction, the Centre Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery was promoted to the esteemed rank of Brigadier on 6 February 2026, a date that also marked his birthday, making the occasion an unforgettable milestone in his life and military career.

The ceremonial donning of the new rank insignia of the Centre Commandant, Brigadier WSAB Dharmaratne RSP USP psc IG, took place in the early morning hours at the Regimental Centre. The prestigious honour of placing the new ranks was performed by the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, in keeping with long-standing military tradition and regimental customs.

Following the rank-donning ceremony, the day’s programme continued with a series of formal and commemorative events organised to mark the promotion of the Centre Commandant.

Thereafter, floral tributes were offered at the Regimental Monument in solemn remembrance, reflecting respect for the fallen and the proud heritage of the Regiment. A ceremonial Guard Turnout was also held at the Regimental Centre, adding further dignity and military splendour to the occasion.
