House Opening Ceremony of Lance Bombardier Madhusanka’s Newly Completed Residence

The house warming ceremony for S/167458 Lance Bombardier Madhusanka MAGD of the 9th Field Regiment of the Sri Lanka Artillery was held recently with dignity and pride, marking a significant milestone for the soldier and his family. The event symbolized not only the completion of a new home but also the spirit of camaraderie and goodwill within the military community.

The occasion was graciously attended by the generous donors, Mr. S.Vasantha Silva and Mrs. Padmini Mallika Silva, whose contribution made the construction of the residence possible. Their presence underscored the importance of community support extended toward service personnel.

The ceremony was further honored by the participation of the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General KVNP Premaratne RSP USP nps psc along with the President of the Seva Vanitha Artillery Regiment Mrs. Vindya Premaratne. Their attendance reflected the high regard held for the welfare of soldiers serving under their command.

Moreover, the Commander of the Artillery Brigade Brigadier TGIA Ariyaratne RSP IG, the Commandant of the School of Artillery Colonel G K Paranavitana RSP psc IG, and Commanding Officers from 5 (V) and 7th Light Regiments Sri Lanka Artillery as well as members from the Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch too participated for the event. Their collective presence highlighted the unity and strong regimental bonds within the Gunner tribe.

During the ceremony, hampers and gifts were presented to the household as tokens of goodwill and encouragement. The formal proceedings concluded successfully, followed by a fellowship lunch hosted at the Officers’ Mess of the 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, Singhapura allowing attendees to share in celebration and camaraderie.

The event stood as a testament to the Sri Lanka Army’s enduring commitment to the welfare of its personnel and the supportive partnerships that make such meaningful initiatives possible.
