Brigadier W S A B Dharmaratne RSP USP psc IG officially assumed duties as the 13th Commander of the 541 Infantry Brigade on 18 May 2026 at the Brigade Headquarters amidst military formalities and religious observances. Marking the commencement of the occasion, the incoming Brigade Commander reviewed the Guard Turnout presented in his honour upon arrival at the Headquarters premises.

The formal assumption of duties was conducted following religious observances. As part of the day’s proceedings a ceremonial planting of a sapling was conducted at the Brigade premises. Subsequently, he addressed the troops and conveyed his vision and expectations while emphasizing professionalism and discipline among all ranks serving under his command.

The ceremonial event was attended by Commanding Officers, Senior Officers and troops under command to the 541 Infantry Brigade. They warmly welcomed the newly appointed Commander and extended their best wishes for a successful tenure.
