Glorious Felicitation for the Newly Appointed Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army

The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery ceremonially felicitated Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the 69th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, on 02 June 2026 at the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Artillery in a gesture of profound honour, dignity, and respect. The ceremony was organized to honour one of the most distinguished and accomplished senior Gunner Officer upon his appointment to one of the highest appointments in the Sri Lanka Army.

The ceremony marked a memorable milestone for the entire Gunner fraternity, as Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks gathered to extend their heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to a senior officer produced by the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery.

Upon his arrival at the Regimental Centre, the newly appointed Chief of Staff was warmly welcomed and accorded a Guard Turnout in line with military traditions. Thereafter, a splendid Guard of Honour was presented in his honour. The ceremonial proceedings, witnessed by Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the Regiment reflected the regimental pride that have long been the hallmarks of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery. The day’s proceedings were followed by a tea reception held at the 4th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery Other Ranks’ Mess, which provided an opportunity for all ranks to interact with the Senior Officer and further strengthen regimental camaraderie.

Subsequently, the newly appointed Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army opened the Visitors’ Book and marked a formal record of his visit and the occasion.
