2026-06-02Lieutenant Colonel R M S T Ranasinghe USP psc SLA officially assumed duties as the 14th Commanding Officer of the 14th Rocket Regiment, Sri Lanka Artillery, on 01 June 2026.
The day's programme commenced with the arrival of the newly appointed Commanding Officer, accorded a Guard Turnout in keeping with military traditions. Thereafter, he inspected the Guard Turnout and participated in a tree-planting ceremony within the regimental premises.
The formal assumption of duties ceremony was amidst religious observances, invoking blessings for a successful tenure and highlighting the spiritual significance of the occasion. The programme concluded with an All Ranks tea party, followed by a troop address. During his address, the new Commanding Officer shared his vision for the regiment.
The occasion marked an important milestone for the 14th Rocket Regiment, Sri Lanka Artillery, as all ranks extended their best wishes to Lieutenant Colonel R M S T Ranasinghe USP psc SLA for a successful and distinguished tenure as Commanding Officer.
