Lieutenant Colonel K A E S Kasthuriarachchi psc IG SLA officially assumed duties as the 12th Commanding Officer of the 15 Drone Regiment, Sri Lanka Artillery, on 01 June 2026 at Balalla, Maho.

The formal assumption of duties was marked by a series of military and ceremonial events conducted in keeping with military traditions. The programme commenced with the inspection of the Guard Turnout, followed by the planting of a sapling within the regimental premises.

Thereafter, a brief religious observance was held to invoke blessings for a successful tenure and to mark the spiritual significance of the occasion. Then the newly appointed Commanding Officer signed the official documents symbolizing the formal assumption of duties. The occasion marked an important milestone for the 15 Drone Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery.
