Army Rewards International Athlete Warrant Officer 1 Chaminda Wijekoon

House warming ceremony of the modern house constructed for International Athlete Warrant Officer 1 Chaminda Wijekoon with the financial assistance of the Ministry of Sports and the Regiment of Artillery was held at 1007 hours on 6 September 2013 at Kaluwala Road,Amunugoda, Imbulgoda. Lt Gen Daya Ratnayake WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc the Commander of the Army who initiated concept of providing houses for Army athletes,ceremonially handed over the keys to WO 1 Wijekoon. Maj Gen JC Rambukpotha RSP USP ndc psc IG the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery and several distinguished invitees attended the ceremony. The entire labour force for the house was provided by the Corps of Engineer Services and the Regiment of Artillery.
