Field Artillery Simulator System
2016-11-07Field Artillery Simulator System is a computer based training application developed by "Centre for Research and Development" under Ministry of Defence (MOD) to facilitate the training of Artillery Observation Post Officers (OPO), Observation Post Assistance (OPA) and operators of newly inducted "Quad Copters" of 15 UAV Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery.
The innovated system was officially handed over to the Commander of the Army by the Secretary to the MOD in a simple ceremony held on 20 October 2016.
The simulator system can simulate diverse training environments including a variety of static and moving targets, custom terrain and land views with realistic weather effects.
Brigadier NLK Samarasinghe IG, Commander Artillery Brigade also attended the ceremony.
