The Regiment of Artillery Felicitated Newly Promoted Major Generals

A felicitation ceremony was held to express congratulations and respect for Major General G V Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG and Major General D A R Ranawaka RSP ndu IG who were recently promoted to the rank of Major General in their career as Gunner Officers. The customary event unfolded on 29th June 2017 at Regimental Headquarter premises, Panagoda with the participation of large number of officers and other ranks. On behalf of the Colonel Commandant and all officers and other ranks of the Regiment, the Centre Commandant extended the best wishes of the Regiment to the newly promoted Major Generals.

Featuring the traditional event, first, they offered floral tribute to the fallen war heroes of the tribe who made supreme sacrifice in the name of our motherland. Then they reviewed the Guard Turnout presented by the Regimental Headquarters and accepted the regimental salute accorded by a Guard of Honour mounted by the Regiment. All officers present was posted for a photograph with the Major Generals and day's proceedings were culminated with the All Rank Lunch hosted by 6th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery.

Speaking on behalf of all two Generals, Major General G V Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG extended their sincere gratitude to all past and present officers and other ranks of the Regiment for paving way for their today's success which was filled with many moments of experiences and happiness. Concluding his remarks, he assured that they will be the strength that Regiment is expected out of all Gunners whilst expressing their utmost concern over immaculate arrangements made to share their success.
